The American Gaming Association has published its latest survey on player behavior with "American Attitudes Toward Gaming 2025," outlining a number of positive trends that the gambling industry is experiencing currently in the country.

Visitations to physical casinos surge, as more Americans see gambling positively

According to the latest report shared by the trade group, 57% of American adults placed at least one wager in the past year. More than 30% of adults visited a physical casino to gamble, and 21% placed a sports bet. Notably, approval of gambling has increased, with 62% of respondents arguing that gambling is "personally acceptable."

AGA CEO and President Bill Miller also commented on the latest survey, lauding the most recent results that have indicated a strong growth of the regulated market:

"These results underscore a sustainable foundation for the American gaming industry, reflecting strong consumer confidence in a state-regulated market as a safe and trusted form of entertainment."

Another takeaway is the number of visitors to physical locations for either gambling or entertainment purposes, pinning the total to 134 million Americans, or 53% of the population. AGA’s survey similarly argues that the bulk of casino visitors consider casino entertainment to be "innovative" and offer "good value for money" compared to other entertainment options.

AGA says that 90% of respondents found casinos to be good value for their money compared to other entertainment options. According to the majority of respondents (77%), the gambling economy has also had a positive impact on the nation’s economy.

Among the benefits that originate in the gambling industry are new jobs and investments, higher wages, and a boost to tourism, conventions, and meetings in areas that would otherwise struggle to attract them.

Casinos bring innovative entertainment and good value for money

Casinos also offer entertainment and dining options, according to 85% of respondents, that might not be available to locals otherwise. The majority of respondents, 74%, also supported the legalization of sports betting and said that they favored legal and regulated sports wagering.

Another positive trend has been the reach of responsible gambling campaigns, with 64% of Americans acknowledging that the industry now appears more committed to safe play and player protection than ever in the past.

This is a significant improvement. In 2018, only 40% of respondents believed this to be the case. As the industry continues to consolidate its status and elicit a positive response from consumers, legal gambling options are increasingly favored by consumers.
