Camilla Rosenberg, a longtime gambling regulator boss, has confirmed that she will be taking her leave from the watchdog come October 31, 2025.

Rosenberg is one of the regulator’s longest-standing leaders, having joined Spelinspektionen back in 2015 as Head of Operations before transitioning to Director General in October 2017, and has been instrumental in steering the authority towards the switch to a regulated market on January 1, 2019.

Even before her joining the regulator, Rosenberg held several senior positions across the Swedish government sector, and she has been a strong actor of change.

The latest change comes as Rosenberg has been appointed as the Director and Head of the Swedish Real Estate Agents’ Inspectorate (FMI), a position she will assume on November 1, 2025, as per an official press release.

In a statement, Claes Norgren, Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Gambling Authority, had this to say:

"I would like to thank Camilla Rosenberg for her meritorious work at the Swedish Gambling Authority during a time of profound changes in the gambling market. I congratulate her on her new position. Operations will continue as planned and at an unabated pace pending the appointment of a new Director General."

Rosenberg’s appointment has been similarly welcomed and hailed by Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner, who said that her appointment would add great value to the new position.

"Camilla’s experience, especially from the Swedish Gambling Authority and their work to combat money laundering, will be of great value to FMI, and I look forward to our future collaboration," Slottner wrapped up.

In the meantime, Spelinspektionen has reintroduced its Gambling Awareness Program designed to help combat gambling-related harm and addiction in the country.
