Resorts World Las Vegas, the premium integrated resort offering more than 3,500 hotel rooms and suites and a range of gaming, retail and entertainment amenities, strengthened its team with a fresh appointment.
Earlier this week, the operator announced it hired Jennifer Roberts for the role of Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).
The new Chief Compliance Officer will be in charge of crucial processes
Joining Resorts World Las Vegas as its new CCO, the executive brings more than two decades of experience.
In her role at the leading gaming and entertainment destination, Roberts will oversee its regulatory compliance, as well as licensing and registration.
The new CCO will play an important role when it comes to Resorts World Las Vegas' compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and responsible gambling.
Roberts' responsibilities will include the development, design and implementation of different policies and programs that are expected to bolster Resorts World Las Vegas' compliance.
She will identify and help mitigate compliance risks, engage in operational assessments, proactive monitoring and testing that have the ultimate goal of adhering to the highest standards of the regulatory framework.
Roberts shared her excitement in a statement, revealing: "I am thrilled to join this stellar team of professionals and help drive the continued development of a best-in-class compliance program here at Resorts World Las Vegas."
The new CCO at Resorts World Las Vegas added: "I want to thank the leadership team for this opportunity and look forward to working closely with them as we build on the significant progress already made."
The latest senior-level hire comes after back in February, Resorts World Las Vegas appointed Carlos Castro to the dual role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Roberts brings deep expertise in gaming law and a solid understanding of the sector
Alex Dixon, Resorts World Las Vegas' CEO, said that it is exciting to see an expert of Roberts' rank to join the company.
He welcomed the new CCO and added: "Her deep expertise in gaming law and understanding of the casino regulatory environment makes her uniquely positioned to continue our efforts to build and sustain a robust, world-class compliance program."
Last but not least, Dixon pointed out: "Integrity, commitment and ethics are critical components of the culture at Resorts World Las Vegas, and Jennifer will play a key role in further strengthening our compliance program, ensuring it is appropriately designed, resourced, tested and empowered to promote a culture of compliance."
Roberts is an adjunct professor at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law as well as the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah.
She has more than two decades of experience in the legal vertical and, before joining Resorts World Las Vegas, held the role of VP and General Counsel at WynnBET.
Roberts is also the founder of Roberts Gaming Law, Ltd., a leading gaming law firm that she owns.
