The United Arab Emirates is steadily moving towards an expansion of its gambling market, first with the issuance of a license to The Game LLC in July 2024, the country’s official lottery operator, and then with the go-ahead granted to Wynn Resorts to build the Middle East’s first casino resort, the Al Marjan Island project in Ras Al Khaimah.

Novomatic only second slot machine supplier to have a license for now
Novomatic has now become the latest sector company, in its capacity as a supplier, to obtain a license from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), allowing it to expand in the market as it anticipates even more important developments moving forward.
Commenting on the obtaining of a Gaming Related Vendor License – Tier 1, Novomatic Member of the Executive Board Stefan Krenn welcomed the news and said that it constituted a significant milestone for the company.

UAE continues to draw suppliers and specialized companies
Novomatic joins a list of companies to have recently secured a license in the country, with others on the list including Aristocrat, which became the first slot machine supplier. Xpoint, a geolocation specialist, was also able to obtain a license as well.
In fact, The Game LLC teamed up with Xpoint to tap into the latter’s geolocation expertise and prowess and strengthen player protection and the business’s overall standing in the country.
