Yvonne de Liefde and Claudia Sampaio join the Dutch Lottery

The largest gambling provider in the Netherlands, which is parent to ten game brands, including Eurojackpot, Lotto and Lucky Day, among others, the Dutch Lottery (Nederlandse Loterij), strengthened its team with two senior-level appointments.

Details regarding the latest appointments emerged on Wednesday, with Nederlandse Loterij confirming it hired the seasoned executives Yvonne de Liefde and Claudia Sampaio.

Two experienced execs bolster the Lottery's C-suite

Joining the Lottery, De Liefde was appointed to the role of Head of Sponsoring and Partnerships.

On the other hand, Sampaio will be serving as Director of Retail.

In her role as Head of Sponsoring and Partnerships, De Liefde will oversee strategic collaborations, including maintaining existing and signing new agreements.

Holding this important role at the Dutch Lottery, she will oversee collaborations with organizations such as the KNVB (the Royal Dutch Football Association), TeamNL, and other football clubs from the country's top-flight football division, as well as the Women's Premier League.

Just as important, Sampaio's position includes overseeing the entire retail organization of the Dutch Lottery.

Last month, the Dutch Lottery announced that Alexander Pechtold, the chairman of its Supervisory Board, plans to step down.

Sampaio and De Liefde have a track record and solid experience

De Liefde revealed that it is exciting to join Nederlandse Loterij, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.

"I'm proud to take on this new role. For many years, the Dutch Lottery has demonstrated the unifying power of sport," she explained.

Finally, the new Head of Sponsorship and Partnerships pointed out: "I look forward to working with the team to make these fantastic gaming brands even more successful and thus contribute to the Dutch Lottery's mission."

Sampaio was equally optimistic and said that it is thrilling to join the Dutch Lottery and hold this important role.

"Together with the various teams, we'll ensure we're at the forefront of the transformations currently underway in the Dutch retail sector, both in existing channels and with new customers," the new Director of Retail said.

Arno de Jong, the Dutch Lottery's CCO, acknowledged the extensive experience the two executives bring to the Lottery.

Moreover, he acknowledged that the new senior-level hires strengthen the Lottery's capabilities.

"Both have a proven track record of building meaningful collaborations, a strategic perspective, and are capable of further strengthening the organization and preparing it for the future," De Jong explained in conclusion.

De Liefde brings a solid experience, considering that her career started at Trefpunt before transitioning to KPN and De Lotto.

Most recently, she was part of Heineken, where she held the role of Manager of Global Sponsorship Events.

While Sampaio's career started at Procter & Gamble, she was also employed by Perrigo Netherlands.

Ahead of joining the Dutch Lottery, she served as Associate Director of Retail at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.
