The leading online gaming operator with a strong presence in Spain and Latin America, Codere Online, will be looking for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) after its existing CFO, Oscar Iglesias, confirmed plans to step down from his role.
Codere Online starts search for new CFO
A statement released by the company confirms that the CFO's decision to resign from his role was due to personal reasons.
Still, Iglesias won't part ways with Codere Online as he will transition to a position on the company's Board of Directors.
This transition, subject to shareholder approval, will see Iglesias join the Board where he previously served between 2021 and 2023.
The change will enable the experienced executive to continue to provide his vital guidance and advice, helping Codere Online navigate its strategic direction.
According to the company, Iglesias' resignation is effective upon the transfer of responsibilities to a successor, or December 31, 2025.
This summer, Codere Online reported solid Q2 revenue.
At the time, the company recorded net gaming revenue of €54.8m, a result that represented a slight year-over-year increase.
Notably, Codere Online's average monthly active players in Q2 soared by 7% year over year.
The executive is looking forward to supporting Codere Online as part of the Board of Directors
Iglesias commented on the upcoming transition: "While I have made the personal decision to move on from a day-to-day role in the Company, I look forward to continuing to support Codere Online as both a Board member and shareholder of the Company."
Gonzaga Higuero, Codere Online's Chairman of the Board, added: "We are grateful to Oscar for his leadership and dedication over the past decade."
Finally, Higuero pointed out: "He has been a trusted partner and a driving force behind our journey from a private company to a Nasdaq-listed organization. We are pleased that he will remain closely involved with the Company as a member of our Board."
Before joining Codere Online, Iglesias was employed by Codere Group, Codere Online's parent company.
At the time, he held important roles such as Global Head of Corporate Development and Deputy CFO.
In 2021, Iglesias joined Codere Online at a time of significant growth and transformation.
He played an instrumental role in the company's successful public listing in 2021, completed via a strategic merger with DD3 Acquisition Corp. II.
Between 2021 and 2023, Iglesias was part of Codere Online's Board of Directors before transitioning to the CFO role.
