The all-in-one rest stop, offering a range of amenities, including a casino, restaurant and fueling stations located in Madras, Oregon, Plateau Travel Plaza, announced the beginning of a major expansion and renovation.
The renovation project will create temporary and permanent jobs
The venue, owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and Warm Springs Casino Enterprises (WSCE), started the reconstruction on August 25, 2025, following the annual air show.
The major project is expected to create 20 new permanent roles, while during the construction, hundreds of temporary jobs are going to be created as well.
The exciting expansion and renovation project at Plateau Travel Plaza reaffirms the venue's dedication to investing in the community and delivering new amenities to its guests.
The ambitious project is led by Kirby construction company and KMB architects.
While Plateau Travel Plaza confirmed the starting date of the building works, it is yet to be confirmed when the project will be fully completed.
Ensuring convenience for its visitors, the all-in-one rest stop will keep all of the trucker amenities such as showers, laundry and fuel lanes open.
New slot games, food and beverage options await visitors of Plateau Travel Plaza
Shawn McDaniel, Plateau Travel Plaza and Indian Head Casino's General Manager, shared his excitement, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
"Our guests have been telling us what they want, and we've been listening," he explained.
Moreover, McDaniel pointed out: "This expansion is about delivering on those requests — more gaming, more dining, and more convenience — all in a space that reflects the pride and hospitality of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs."
Last but not least, the General Manager said that Plateau Travel Plaza is looking forward to delivering the additional amenities that will further boost the visitor experience.
Part of the renovation will include expanding the venue's gaming room.
As a result, visitors will be able to enjoy double the size of the existing slot machine area, along with state-of-the-art new slot machines.
Moreover, Plateau Travel Plaza will grow its food amenities with the delivery of new sit-down dining and grab-to-go options.
Upgrades to the venue's store, as well as the addition of new beverages and ice cream, among other options, will also be completed.
While Plateau Travel Plaza will upgrade and expand its offering, it will continue to be part of Indian Head Casino's player rewards program.
This will enable visitors to earn and redeem points and rewards at the two properties seamlessly.
