Play’n GO has secured a major milestone in its history with the company marking its 20th anniversary by launching into the brick-and-mortar casino sector. Thanks to a partnership with global gaming and entertainment major Genting, Play’n GO will be arriving at land-based properties across the world.
Play’n GO breaks ground in land-based gaming with Genting
This is possible through Genting’s BOOM Slots new cabinet, which was developed exclusively for the property, and which will now house the world-beating online casino slots developed by the Swedish studio.
An initial salvo of 13 slots has been approved to launch, among which are the studio’s all-time best games, including Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead, Honey Rush 100, Buildin’ Bucks, and Reactoonz, all of which have been adapted for the brick-and-mortar market and have rolled out with more than 30 casinos owned by the company in the United Kingdom specifically.
The launch was preceded by a trial period, which saw the Resorts World Casino in Birmingham run the new cabinets for six months and collect feedback on player reception and overall performance. All told, both Play’n GO and Genting have been happy with the results so far.
Commenting on this rare moment in the company’s history, Play’n GO CEO and Co-Founder Johan Törnqvist said:
"This is a historic day for Play’n GO and the culmination of a vision that both Genting and Play’n GO share – to bring the best of online casino content and features to casino floors worldwide."
Törnqvist spoke highly of the opportunity to see the content incorporated into the land-based segment and argued that it too has been done in a distinctly "Play’n GO flavored way."
"Genting have been a brilliant partner throughout this project and we’re looking forward to working closely with their fantastic teams to build on this initial UK-facing rollout to ensure it's a success," the chief executive said, commending the studio’s partner.
Genting Product Director Stuart Armstrong was similarly pleased with the opportunity, arguing that the tie-up would help add differentiation to the company’s already existing product. The launch of the BOOM Slots product allows Genting to offer a compelling gaming experience, he added.
"We know from our trial period that Play’n GO’s well known online casino content is attractive to players in land-based spaces too and we can’t wait to roll this out to all of our UK properties soon," Armstrong concluded.
